Presentation Content

In order to receive full points for this project checkpoint, your presentation should include the following components:

  • Motivation: In one slide, summarize what your research problem is and why it is important.
  • Key Idea/Novelty: In one-two slides, discuss the most closely related research paper(s) to your project and explain why your approach is novel.
  • Approach or Study Design: In one =-two slides Provide a high-level description of how your approach works or how your study was performed. This should include a figure detailing your approach or study.
  • Evaluation: Introduce your research questions, and briefly explain what you did to answer them. Note that due to time constraints, you may only be able to present 1-2 RQs, so pick the most interesting ones.
  • Results: In 1-2 slides, summarize the results of your research questions. This should be done using charts/graphics/figures.
  • Future Work: In one slide, describe what you will finish by the end of the semester for the Final project report.

Presentation Formatting and Timing

Note that this is a six minute presentation, and thus is very short. As such, you need to make sure to tailor your presentation to fit within this time limit. You will not be able to go through every detail of your project (or even most details!). Therefore, you will need to select the most important and/or interesting pieces of your project and present these.

If you are working with a partner, you must each present 50% of the presentation.

Presentation Grading

The grading for this presentation will follow the presentation grading guidlines
